The FSA is considering a change which would mean more scrutiny of bonus payments. Within a letter made public last week, the FSA said that it could be more involved in reviewing bonus policies for 2012, before authorising payments.
The additional procedures would involve FSA supervisors holding meetings with senior executives and remuneration committees in the period leading up to bonus payments in order to ensure that payments are compliant with rules before payments are made.
The proposed changes are up for consultation until 2nd September.
